Statement of Faith
WE BELIEVE there is only one God. He exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. He is holy and just, loving and merciful, all-knowing, all-powerful, sovereign and everywhere present at all times. He desires to be known by man.
WE BELIEVE Jesus Christ is true God and true Man, and is God’s provision for the salvation of all people. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, died on the Cross as atonement for the sins of the world, rose from the dead on the third day, and showed himself alive to many witnesses. He ascended into Heaven, where He now sits at the right hand of the Father as our great High Priest. He will come again to receive all who believe in Him and to establish His Kingdom of righteousness and peace.
WE BELIEVE the Holy Spirit is a divine person who convicts unbelievers of their sin and lack of righteousness. He calls them to a relationship with Jesus our Savior and upon acceptance indwells them. He lives in all true believers to guide and empower them to live holy lives.
WE BELIEVE the Holy Bible, both the Old and New Testaments, is God’s revelation of truth and salvation for all people. It is inerrant as originally given, and is the Christian’s reliable guide for holy living.
WE BELIEVE human beings are created in the image and likeness of God. Sin and death entered the human race through disobedience. All people are born with a sin nature, which separates them from God, but through the sacrificial death and resurrection of Jesus, all who believe are saved from eternal death and punishment.
WE BELIEVE the Church is composed of all who truly believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ, the head of the Church, has commissioned his followers to go into all the world as his witnesses to make disciples by preaching the Gospel to all people, teaching them to obey his commands, and baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
WE BELIEVE that we are living in the last days and time is of the essence. We are to spread God’s Word, to be prepared in season and out of season and to correct, rebuke and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.
WE BELIEVE Jesus Christ will return to earth in power and glory, and will resurrect all who have died: the righteous to eternal life in heaven and the unrighteous to eternal judgment.
WE BELIEVE Jesus commands us as his representatives on earth to feed the hungry, give water to the thirsty, provide clothing and shelter to the destitute, and minister to those who are sick and in prison, for in so doing we are ministering to Jesus himself.
